This web site was created by and is run by Doug and Mandie Setzer. This site is in honor of our daughter, Paige Ann who was diagnosed with an ependymoma brain tumor in January of 2005, at the age of 13 months. In the time following, we've supported various brain tumor charities, participated in events and show our support whenever possible.
In our attempt to show our support, we Googled for various brain tumor products and found that we had a hard time finding "brain tumor" and, even more specifically, "pediatric brain tumor" products. As they say, necessity is the mother of all inventions, BrainTumorLife.com was imagined.
And, as things go - the idea was put off due to lack of time until a conversation started on the Pediatric Brain Tumor online support group. The term "PMS" is used to mean "Pre-MRI-Syndrome". The discussion started with Doug and another mother PMS'ing at the same time and quickly morphed into, "Hey, that's a cool idea for a t-shirt. We could..." and it grew from there.
Since then, Mandie and Doug spent their time contacting friends to build out this web site, design the products and establish relationships with vendors to each product. Being a labor of love, we've attempted to keep our prices as low as possible by calling on friends to help out (please take a moment to view the "thanks" on the left); and to use the markup to make donations to charities.
